Steve Barr is a screenwriter, producer, and development consultant with extensive Hollywood experience. He has provided formal analysis on over a thousand screenplays. His own screenplay Plant Life earned him a development deal with Walt Disney Pictures, and his award winning short film Quiet was named one of the top 10 shorts of the year by Film Threat magazine. While in New Zealand he has led seminars for several film schools, the Reel Earth Film Festival, and the New Zealand Writers Guild. He continues to write for American producers as well as assessing screenplays for New Zealand writers, producers, and NZ On Air. He co-wrote Timeslow, one of the inaugural feature films under the New Zealand Film Commission’s Escalator programme. Steve has a BFA in Theatre from the University of Southern California.
