Nursing Tutors

Bachelor of Nursing (Pacific)

Position Number HEDs11/3T

(One Full Time position and Two Half Time positions - Limited Tenure)

Whitireia Community Polytechnic is seeking tutors who are passionate about nursing education. We have one Full Time and two Half Time limited tenured (fixed term) positions in our Bachelor of Nursing Pacific programme.

These positions are based at the Porirua campus and will provide the successful applicant with an opportunity to be part of a committed team who prepare nurses with a particular focus on the health needs of Pacific and non-Pacific communities within the New Zealand context.

The applicant must have:

  • a clinical background in older adult health, chronic health care nursing, primary health, or mental health and a willingness to teach bioscience
  • a relevant Post Graduate qualification or undertaking Master’s degree studies
  • a commitment to Te Tiriti O Waitangi
  • a willingness to work collaboratively and autonomously
  • New Zealand nursing registration, a current annual practicing certificate and current driver’s licence
  • previous teaching experience is desirable

Faculty of Health

Clinical Coordinator

Position Number HEDs11/1CC

Full Time, Tenured (Permanent)

Are you a Registered Nurse, with extensive clinical experience and a passion for working with undergraduate students? Do you want to develop your project management skills and build relationships across the health sector?

Whitireia New Zealand is seeking a highly motivated clinical coordinator to work across the Faculty of Health to ensure quality clinical placements are planned and available for our nursing and paramedic students. You would be part of a small, professional team which is also part of the wider health community at Whitireia.

Applicants must have:

  • A current Nursing Registration and Annual Practicing Certificate
  • Previous coordination and/or teaching experience
  • Recent experience within the health sector particularly in secondary and tertiary care settings
  • Excellent communication and networking skills
  • Relevant postgraduate qualification (level 8) preferred, or a commitment to undertake ongoing education at Postgraduate level
