People Services Manager

Whitireia Community Polytechnic (Whitireia) and Wellington Institute of Technology (WelTec) formed a strategic partnership in 2012 with the objective of providing the best quality, relevant learning experience that we can for our students.  For us it’s about putting learners first, transforming lives and learning together.
The People Services Manager will provide a key leadership role in the collaboration of both Whitireia and WelTec’s operational HR services.  They will be responsible for the provision of a first class operational service for recruitment support, payroll, HR information analysis and reporting, employment relations, HR policies and advice to management.  
With an operational HR team based at both our Petone and Porirua campuses, as well as an HR  Advisor in Auckland, this role will require someone with the ability to build a strong cohesive team across organisations, and provide positive solutions to the complexities involved in a strategic partnership of this nature.  This position will work collaboratively with the Director People and Capability and the Organisational Development Manager, and will provide expert advice to senior management.  
We are looking for a visionary leader with the following skills, experience and attributes:
  • Thorough understanding and successful track record in strategic and operational HR management, including Employment Relations
  • Experience and proven ability to build strong and successful teams across organisations
  • Tertiary degree qualification in relevant discipline, e.g. business or HR management, or equivalent knowledge and experience
  • Decisive, resilient, engaging, adaptable and positive 
  • Experience in HR management within the education sector or similar environment is desirable

Senior International Marketing and Recruitment Advisor
Whitireia and WelTec, Auckland Campus
Whitireia and WelTec (W&W) are seeking a dynamic, positive, creative communicator with experience in International Student Marketing and Recruitment to help us promote Whitireia and WelTec as quality study destinations, and ensure prospective students and business partners receive responsive, accurate, persuasive communications about our offerings.
Based at our Auckland campus, the Advisor will work closely with our Regional Managers and our Admissions teams to promote WelTec and Whitireia study options, increase applications and achieve stretch recruitment targets.
Key responsibilities of the position include:
  • Active management and support of recruitment agents (with a focus on Auckland-based agents) including the provision of information and training, to support the work of Regional Managers in target markets;
  • Proactive management of enquiries and follow-ups to increase conversion from enquiry to application and from application to enrolment;
  • Coordination of clear, accurate, regular and prompt communications with all customers of W&W International
This role will appeal to a goal-oriented individual who loves working in a team-oriented environment, puts the customer at the centre of all interactions, and has strong attention to detail and the ability to convey complex information in an engaging manner.
