It will be back bigger and better in 2012!
Programme Overview
The Certificate in Health Professional Practice Development (CHPPD) contains a selection of workshops that contribute to professional practice development. This NZQA Level 7 programme is designed to offer a range of professional development opportunities that have academic credits from a Nursing Council of New Zealand accredited education provider.
Workshops are offered over one or two days and are short courses on varied topics that can be chosen to support the learning and practice needs of the individual. After enrolling and successfully completing a workshop you will be provided with a letter of attendance. This can be used as evidence of professional development under the Health Practitioner Competency Assurance Act. Workshops start at various times throughout the year, by arrangement and in response to demand. You must be a registered health professional or equivalent, with a current NZ practising certificate to be eligible to enrol.
Once you have obtained 30 credits (a one day workshop is equivalent to 2 credits) you can also enrol in the 10 credit Clinical Project paper and on successful completion of this paper, you will be awarded the Certificate in Health Professional Practice Development.

Education is an ongoing process. Many of our courses fit together, or follow on from one to another to provide a comprehensive learning package.
At Whitireia we also have formal arrangements with universities, and other polytechnics, so that you can cross credit qualifications from one institution to another.
