The new academic year has started at Whitireia with students welcomed on to the various campuses in Wellington, Porirua and Kāpiti yesterday.
The welcome yesterday marked the start of ‘O month’ where a range of activities have been planned for this week and throughout February, for new and returning students. ‘O month’ will see students treated to music and sports events, a business day where a range of business and services that can provide support to students will be on display, bbq’s and an amazing race that will take place later in the month.
Orientation will wrap up on the 28 February with live bands, DJs and food at the San Francisco Bath House, Cuba Street, Wellington City. This orientation party is being held in association with WelTec.
Around 2192 equivalent full-time students have enrolled to study at Whitireia so far this year; this is where we are expect to be. Health programmes remain the most popular with the students followed by programmes with an arts focus.
