Whitireia were proud to sponsor, for another year, the Foodstuffs Wellington Training Awards held in Wellington recently.  This annual awards event sees Whitireia as the principal sponsor of the Supervisory Development category.   This awards ceremony celebrates the achievements of management development, supervisory development, distribution, butchery and bakery certificate graduates, and finalists in the checker and assessor of the year competitions, for employees at Foodstuffs stores in the Wellington region.

Supervisory Development is a training programme offered to Foodstuffs through our Faculty of Service Industries, First Line Management programme.  It provides their staff with an opportunity to gain a national qualification in the fundamentals of first line management. The programme attracts existing, newly appointed and/or potential department managers and supervisors working in Foodstuffs stores.

Whitireia has been delivering First Line Management programmes to Foodstuffs staff since 2004.
