Borrowing

Find out about our key library services: lending, renewals, reservations and interloans

Lending

  • our student ID card is your library card
  • Most material for loan can be borrowed for three weeks
  • You can have up to eight items on issue to you at any one time
  • Journals, reference books, vertical file material, and books on closed reserve may not be taken out of the library
  • Items may be recalled at any time
  • Items can be borrowed from any of the campus libraries
  • Where necessary, an SMS message about reserves and overdues will be sent to your cell-phone
  • Borrower records can be checked online from the library catalogue page - login is your student or staff ID and click on "Forgotten your password" link if you do not know your password

Renewals

  • You may renew an item twice as long as it is not required by another borrower

Reservations

  • Items which are on loan can be reserved
  • You collect reserved materials from the circulation desk
  • Items are held for seven days

Interloans

  • You are able to borrow from other libraries in New Zealand through the interloan system
  • Up to ten items a year can be interloaned free of charge
  • Interloaned material is collected from and returned to the circulation desk
