Orientation is about preparing for study, meeting the people who are here to provide support, and having some fun. It begins with a pōwhiri and continues with roadshows, expos, workshops and other events. The next orientation will be on week commencing 23 July for the start of Semester Two.
Pōwhiri officially welcomes students to Whitireia and celebrates both the beginning of a relationship with us and the start of the study journey. Pōwhiri are held at multiple campuses on a number of dates.
Events held during orientation week at our various campuses include:
Come along to one of our roadshows to meet support staff and find out more about the campus. You can attend one of these events before you start your programme of study.
Expos feature stalls from local businesses, community groups, health care organisations and Whitireia Student Support Services. Enjoy food, prizes, games, giveaways, music and lots more.
Come on in to the Student Hub and take a look around. Grab a hot drink, ask us anything, use the computers and sports equipment, play some board games, sign-up or start a group or club, relax, meet other students and more, with giveaways throughout the day.
