Programme Information

This programme focuses on the practical skills required to perform professional services in the beauty therapy context and to enable students to develop the required literacy, numeracy, and study skills to enable higher level study.

Students have the opportunity to perform treatments on paying clients during Beauty Salon Days and to gain the internationally recognised City and Guilds Diploma in Beauty Therapy (conditions apply).

Professional Practice Gain knowledge and related skills in professional practice to become independent beauty therapy operators in a beauty therapy workplace. Meet health, safety and hygiene obligations in accordance with industry standards.

Manicure/Pedicure Services and Nutrition Gain knowledge and related skills of natural nail services to meet client’s needs in accordance with industry standards, including current and emerging trends, products & tools

Makeup and Eye Enhancements Gain knowledge and related skills of eye treatments and makeup services to meet client’s needs in accordance with industry standards, including current and emerging trends

Manual Hair Removal Gain knowledge and related skills of manual hair removal and body care services to meet client’s needs

Facial Therapy Gain knowledge and related skills of facial and skin care services to meet client’s needs during and after treatments in accordance with industry standards, including current and emerging trend

Anatomy and Physiology Gain knowledge of relevant aspects of chemistry, physics, biology, and anatomy and physiology in a beauty services context to provide effective services and ensure client comfort and safety

Fundamental Massage and Spray Tanning Gain knowledge and related skills of fundamental massage and spray tanning to meet client’s needs in accordance with industry standards

Business Gain knowledge and skills in small business management and to undertake a client consultation, perform reception and client sales duties and contribute to the operation of a small beauty therapy business

Salon Days Gain extensive practical experience, with a range of clients, in our professional salon environment


Entry Requirements

National Certificate of Educational Achievement (Level 2) or equivalent skills and knowledge

International Students

Proven equivalence to entry requirements plus IELTS 5.5 (no band lower the 5.0)
