Third Year Supply Chain and Logistics Major Courses

BM6206 Introduction to Supply Chain Management - (15 credits) 
This course will introduce you to the main components of a supply chain, such as customer service, demand forecasting, inventory control, warehousing and storage, traffic and transportation, plant and warehouse site selection, order processing and materials handling. It will emphasise the relationships among these various elements and how effective management of them leads to a higher economic standard of living. 
BM6207 Global Supply Chain Management and Transport - (15 credits) 
The aim of this course is to give you an understanding of global supply chain management, also known as the value chain or logistics network management, consist of a network of suppliers, manufacturers, warehouses, distribution centres, wholesalers and retailers in a global context. To gain knowledge how global supply chains can contribute to the competitive position of countries and allow them to penetrate global markets. 
AM6225 Operations Management - (15 credits) 
The aim of this course is to give you an understanding of the concepts and analytical methods that contribute to the systematic direction and control of the processes that transform inputs into completed goods and services, with focus on the efficient and effective management of resources. 
BM7207 Sustainable Strategic Procurement - (15 credits) 
To provide you with an understanding of the impact of strategic procurement on the competitiveness and profitability of an organisation. To gain knowledge on the importance of strategic sourcing relationships and an understanding of the strategic role of supply management in effective and sustainable supply, demand, and value chain operations. 
BM7208 Strategic Supply Chain Management - (15 credits) 
The aim of this course is to give you a strategic view of supply chain management through the application of strategic management and management processes including strategic goals, plans and actions. You will analyse and evaluate the application of strategic analysis, choice and implementation concepts to supply chain practices and philosophies.
