Computer Power Plus is a wholly owned subsidiary of Whitireia Community Polytechnic and Wellington Institute of Technology.  We are an accredited provider of computing qualifications and create engaging curriculum to meet the requirements of the IT industry and our students.

About the position

As Computer Power Plus continues to grow, we have an exciting opportunity for a fixed term, full time IT Curriculum Developer to join our Curriculum Development Team in Wellington.  As a Curriculum Developer you will be responsible for developing and maintaining quality curriculum products for Computer Power Plus.  Curriculum products include:  Courseware, assessments, assessment schedules, marking guides and model answers.

Skills and experience

Please apply if you are passionate about providing quality teaching and learning materials in IT and have:

Essential

  • vocational qualifications in Information Technology
  • technical Skills – this includes knowledge of Hardware, operating systems, networking, and e-mail systems.
  • excellent writing and editing skills
  • ability to view courseware from a student point of view
  • ability to quickly learn new skills and adapt to new technologies
  • excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • ability to work independently as well as within groups

Desirable

  • experience in creating courseware content, activities and assessments
  • experience with a Learning Management System (LMS)
  • programming and web knowledge
  • project management knowledge
  • general business and information systems knowledge
  • word processing, desktop publishing, and picture editing skills

Accounts Administrator, Computer Power Plus Wellington

Full Time, Fixed Term until around 10 August 2018

Computer Power Plus is a wholly owned subsidiary of Whitireia Community Polytechnic and Wellington Institute of Technology. We are an accredited provider of Computing qualifications and provide practical, high quality eduction.

We are currently seeking an Accounts Administrator for a fixed term parental leave cover position within the finance team. The successful applicant will assist in a broad range of accounting tasks in both accounts receivable and accounts payable functions as well as the day-to-day student account management. Working in a small team, this ia a busy and varied role that supports several campuses around New Zealand, and would ideally suit an entry-level graduate.

Key tasks include:

  • creating, maintaining and ensuring student accounts are accurately recorded
  • accounts receivable and accounts payable processing
  • month end tasks including debtor reconciliations
  • other administration duties as required

The successful applicant will:

  • have a tertiary New Zealand accounting degree or equivalent.
  • have effective communication skills, both written and oral
  • have excellent attention to detail, communication skills and time management skills
  • be a self-starter, adaptable and takes initiative

Enrolment Advisor, Whitireia Porirua or Wellington

Full Time Permanent

We looking for our next Enrolment Advisor to join our Enrolment Operations and Student Information Team at Whitireia. In this role you will develop a strong knowledge of programmes within your portfolio so that you can assist students in making informed course and program choices that match their needs.

The Enrolment Advisor will be based at either our Porirua or Wellington campus and this will be determined once portfolios are allocated.

Key tasks

Provide high quality and timely enrolment documentation verification and processing services by using:

  • first class customer service skills, including the ability to handle challenging customers
  • ability to build effective working relationships with a diverse range of people (of all levels and backgrounds)
  • ability to use initiative, think creatively and critically, troubleshoot, and to be solution focused to efficiently and effectively solve a wide range of customer issues
  • ability to champion customer service excellence and engage in positive change and adaptation of services to more effectively meet the needs of customers
  • excellent interpersonal and communication skills both written and verbal
  • ability to establish credibility with internal and external key stakeholders
  • willingness to proactively engage with customers through different modern communication methods
  • energy, enthusiasm, professionalism and willingness to go the extra mile to achieve objectives

To succeed in this role, you must have proven experience in a customer service environment preferably in tertiary education. Experience in using tertiary systems such as Artena for enrolments is desirable.

Support Officer, Whitireia, Porirua

We are looking for a Support Officer to join our Enrolment Operations and Student Information team at Whitireia Porirua campus.

The purpose of this position is to provide support that contributes to the delivery of high quality front of house services that put the Learner first by:

  • providing effective and responsive support to the Team Leader with operational activities which includes assistance with document preparation, staff rosters and meeting preparation
  • assisting other teams in the group when needed
  • back up for Reception
  • willingness to go the extra mile to achieve objectives

To succeed in this role you will be competent in using Microsoft Office Suite, have a high attention to detail and be able to demonstrate a positive attitude when working under pressure and dealing with routine/repetitive work.
